From Waterford, Ireland and now based in Australia, stand-up comedian Ian Dowling recently got fired from his job in the construction industry for posting silly videos on social media.

Instead of applying for another job he’s decided to take a risk and go all in on his dream of becoming a full-time stand-up comedian. With not much money in the bank and absolutely no real plan, he decided the best way to do it was to jump on a bicycle for the first time in nearly 10 years and ride around Australia performing comedy shows along the way.

In 2024, Ian’s first adventure-comedy tour, Immigrant on the Run, was a sell-out success. He ran 100km from the Gold Coast to Brisbane, performed a one-hour comedy show, slept a couple of hours, then ran 100km back to the Gold Coast for show number two. Fílthy Ímmigrant – On Ya Bike Kant features stories from that journey, along with brand-new material. From the Catholic guilt-soaked streets of Waterford, Ireland to the land down under, this show takes audiences on a hilarious ride through the misadventures and classic blunders of an Irish blow-in trying to find his place in Australia.
